Forsa Ansestral at Mono

An evening centred on Afro-Curaçaoan cultural heritage, ancestral knowledge and the passing on of traditions.

Sendebibu is an intergenerational platform for Caribbean communities and the diaspora seeking to reconnect with ancestral practices, knowledge and relationships, with a particular focus on tambú. Drawing on our own strengths and resources, we create and share community knowledge.

Now that our island is finally receiving the attention it deserves, we feel the need to engage in meaningful, creative dialogues — with one another and with others — about our culture. We want to share our culture in its truest form, rather than a watered-down or commercialised version.

The evening begins with a community programme focused on connecting and learning about culture. We come together for a libation, conversation, food and a screening of Forsa Ansestral, followed by a post-screening discussion and tambú.

RSVP here. If you arrive before 20:00 with your RSVP, you can stay for the full programme and celebration until 03:00 without an additional ticket.
